Specifications

The 3300/20 is a dual thrust position monitor manufactured and designed by Bently Nevada, and is part of the 3300 series used for mechanical vibration monitoring systems. The 3300/20 dual thrust position monitor provides early warning of thrust bearing failures. It continuously measures and monitors two independent channels for the axial position relative to the axial clearance inside the machine. Ideally, installing an axial probe is to directly observe the thrust ring, so the measured value represents the position of the thrust ring relative to the clearance of the thrust bearing. Due to the fact that thrust measurement is performed by observing the gap voltage of the proximity probe used as input, the monitor can interpret sensor failure (gap out of range) as a shift in thrust position, resulting in erroneous thrust alarms.
